Immunity Myths vs Facts

I hear the same immunity claims every fall — in ads, in group chats, repeated by people who mean well. Some of them would be convenient for my business if they were true. They're not, so let's sort them out, myth by myth.

The four I hear most

MYTH: An IV prevents the flu. FACT: Only the flu shot protects against flu — it is the best protection there is. An IV supports hydration. A different job entirely, and I'll never blur the two to make a sale.

MYTH: More vitamins is always better. FACT: Your body uses what it needs and lets the rest go. That's why screening matters more than megadoses — and why every Swan visit starts with a Good Faith Exam instead of a one-size-fits-all bag.

MYTH: You can feel your immune system working. FACT: What you feel is rest, food, and fluids doing their jobs — and that is enough. "Feeling it working" is usually marketing wearing a lab coat.

MYTH: Wellness shots replace sleep. FACT: Nothing replaces sleep. Not a shot, not a drip, not coffee. We checked.

So what's left when the myths are gone? Honest support — hydration, nutrients, rest — labeled as exactly what it is. That's the whole pitch, and it's the one on our Flu Season page too.

Why do I bother correcting claims that would help my own sales? Because you'll check on us eventually — everyone does — and I'd rather you find a nurse who told you the truth when it cost her a booking than one who told you what closed the sale. Trust compounds. Hype just rents attention until the first person feels misled, and then it's gone, and it takes the honest businesses down a peg with it. We plan to be here a while, so we play it straight.
