What’s Actually in a Swan IV Bag?

People ask me this all the time, usually while the bag is already hanging: "So what's actually in there?" Fair question. You're letting someone put it in your arm — you should know exactly what it is. Here's the whole bag, no mystery.

It starts with the base

Every Swan drip begins with a full liter of saline. That's the foundation — hydration is the main job of every visit, and everything else is an addition to it, not a replacement for it. One liter, delivered over about 45–60 minutes while you rest on your own couch.

Then the additions, chosen for your visit

From there, I add the vitamins and nutrients that fit what you came in for:

  • B-Complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6) — the B family supports everyday energy metabolism.
  • Vitamin B12 — supports energy and focus; it's the one people ask about most.
  • Vitamin C — an antioxidant nutrient that supports normal immune function.
  • Zinc — an essential mineral that supports normal immune function and skin health.
  • Magnesium — involved in muscle relaxation and a sense of calm.
  • Glutathione — often called the body's master antioxidant; your body makes it, and the drip tops it up.

One thing that is not in the standard bag: NAD+. That's its own drip — a slower infusion that runs two to five hours depending on dose, for people who specifically choose it.

And one honest note before any of it: every visit starts with screening and a Good Faith Exam with a licensed provider, every time, no exceptions. That exam is how we decide what's right for you — and occasionally the right answer is that a drip isn't.
